Juvederm Vollure XC is the newest installment in the Juvederm family. It has been FDA approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth area. While Juvederm XC is also FDA approved for the same treatment area, Vollure XC lasts up to 18 months, 6 months longer than the original Juvederm XC. Vollure uses Allergan’s proprietary VYCROSS technology, a blending of varying molecular weights of hyaluronic acid (HA) which allows for the gels longevity. Because of the gels low cohesivity, the gel allows for subtle volume to be added to the treatment area, yielding more natural looking results. Patients who have received Vollure XC gel report minimum discomfort during injection. This is in part due to the gel containing lidocaine to minimize discomfort during injection.
